Toyota: Quality cars through the years

Toyota C-HR

Car lovers all over the world must be able to recognize a good car when they see one. The C-HR is just one of the creation by Toyota, which has built its reputation in making reliable cars over the years. Furthermore, the term C-HR means Compact High Rider. The production of the Toyota C-HR was initially started in late 2016 and then was also launched the same year in Japan. The FJ Cruiser is likewise a popular new model among consumers globally. It is being manufactured by a subsidiary of Toyota, Hino motors.

The C-HR is considered to be under the subcompact crossover SUV class with 5 doors. A crossover SUV is usually built on its chassis and has a highly variable feature compared to that of an SUV. It has a number of engine variety such as 1.2 L turbocharged petrol, 1.8 L Petrol, 2.0L Petrol (North America and China),  and 1.8 L Hybrid. This car model is indeed extraordinary with the dimensions of Wheelbase at 2,640mm, length at 4,360 mm, width at 1,795 mm, and height at 1,565 mm. The hybrid version is at an unbelievable fuel efficiency rate of 30.2 km/L and is one of the highest among its class. The Hybrid version is also proven to be environmentally friendly that has a lower emission level compared to that of the standard.

Toyota Alphard

The Alphard was named after a star that was considered in the constellation Hydra. It shines brightly indeed as it is known to be a luxury minivan vehicle, especially in Japan. It was originally marketed for chauffeur businesses. There are three models that are available in the market such as the Alphard G, Alphard V, and Alphard Hybrid. The latest generation of this top of the line car model was released from January 2016 to present.

The third generation Toyota Alphard has various engine availability that is as follows: 2.5 L I4 petrol, 2.5 L I4 petrol hybrid, and 3.5 L V6. The size and dimensions were also modified compared to the two generations that were previously released. This sophisticated car model has a length of 4,935 mm, a width of 1,850 mm, a height of 1,950 mm, and lastly the wheelbase with the dimension of 3,000 mm.

In addition to its remarkable features, Toyota also incorporated the Safety Sense System that prevents collisions accidents at the road regardless of the vehicle's speed. The Alphard also has great efficiency ratio that reduces friction and proven to have low emissions as well. The newly released models have a local price range of about 2 Million to 3 Million Japanese Yen.

Toyota Prius

The word Prius is a Latin word that means superior or original. From the name itself, there are great expectations with regard to its performance and reliability. Toyota has been manufacturing this car model since the year 1997. Over the years, the company has been enhancing and improving to what it is today. The car models that were released have been classified under subcompact and compact.

From year 1997to 2003, they have been producing the first generation four-door sedan. Then, eventually, by the year 2003 to 2015, the second and third generation five-door liftbacks were manufactured. Finally, the latest that are currently out in the market for sale is the fourth generation five-door fastbacks.

The first generation (XW10), with released models NHW10 and NHW11, was the first gasoline and electric hybrid car to be produced on a massive scale. Upon its release, it won the Car of the Year award that was given in Japan. Even though this model has a great design and features, Toyota was not able to make much profit out its sales. 

The second generation (XW20) was a completely different redesigned model compared to the previous one. The interior has been increased to accommodate more rear seat legroom and a bigger luggage room. Also, it has been proven to be environmentally friendly with low emission rate in comparison to the first generation. Furthermore, the engine was a 1.5 L gasoline hybrid.

The third generation (XW30) was an improved version of the XW20. Aside from the minor changes with its dimension, this model also comes with better interior and added special features. The added features include washer for the headlights, lightweight seats, parking sensors, built in JBL speaker component and an actual lumbar support for the driver that can be controlled electrically. It is also equipped with an updated connectivity system. It is also powered by 1.8 L gasoline hybrid.                 

The fourth generation (XW50) is the latest among the Prius model family. It is believed to have a significant improvement on its battery, engine performance, better mileage, and efficiency. It has an official rating on fuel economy 54 mpg for city driving, 50 mpg during highway drive, and 52 mpg for combined driving.  The latest Prius models have a sales price ranging from 400,000 to 1.7 million Japanese Yen.

Toyota Crown

The Crown are luxury sedans that were produced by Toyota for Japan market since 1955. Since then, it was commonly used for government official transportation or a police car. This car model is iconic due to its unique design of crown emblem on the car grille and steering wheel. Since 1955 up to the present, Toyota has been making this vehicle brand and continuously making improvements and innovations. To sum it all up, Toyota has made fifteen generation series of Crown. The Toyota Crown S 2.0 2018 is the latest and considered to be under executive car class. It is a four-door sedan with 2.0 L, 2.5 L, and 3.5 L available engines.

The first generation (RS Model S30) was made and produced from 1955 to 1962. The second generation (S40 Model) was from the year 1962 to 1967. Next, the third generation (S50 Model) that was manufactured from 1967 to 1971. The Fourth generation (S60 and S70 models) were marketed during the year 1971 to 1974. In addition to this, the fifth generation (S80, S90, and S100 models) were popular during the year 1974 to 1979. Launched from 1979 to 1983 was the sixth generation (S110 model). Released from 1983 to 1987 was the seventh generation (S120 model). All throughout 1987 to 1995, the eight generation (S130 model) was made.

Next, from the year 1991 to 1995, the ninth generation (S140 model) was released. The tenth generation (S150 model) was popular for the Crown model during the year 1995 to 2001. The launching of the eleventh generation (S170 model) coincides with the production of the tenth from the year 1999 to 2003. During the year 2003 to 2008, the twelfth generation (S180) was manufactured. The thirteenth generation (S200 model) was popular throughout from 2008 to 2012. The fourteenth and fifteenth generation (S210 and S220 respectively) were from the year 2012 up to the present.

Toyota Supra

It was in the year 1978 that Toyota started the production of their sports car or grand tourer class vehicle. The Toyota Supra was continuously manufactured until the year 2002. The style detail of the Supra was paralleled to that of the Toyota Celica. This had led to confusion between the Supra and Celica, which an entirely separate model brand. The first generation (A40) Supra was manufactured from 1978 to 1981. It had an available engine capacity of 1,988 cc, 2,563 cc, and 2,759 cc. In 1979, it was initially imported to the US. The second generation (A60) was produced throughout 1981 to 1986. It had an available engine capacity of 1,988 cc and 2,759 cc. The most notable designs for the second generation are the modified front end and pop-up headlights.

The third generation (A70) was manufactured by Toyota from 1986 to 1993. The available engines produced were 1,988 cc, 2,491 cc, and 2,954 cc all on Petrol. The fourth generation (A80) was available in the market from the year 1993 to 2002. It has an engine capacity of 2,997 cc petrol. It was 2002 that Toyota has stopped the production of Supra in Japan. The reason for the cease of production was related to the emission restrictive standard.

Toyota Vellfire

The Vellfire is a sportier version of the Alphard. Though, both vehicles provide the luxury and comfort that comes with its design and reliability. With that being said, the Vellfire has more bold and adventurous exterior details. It showcases dual headlamps, a bumper that is wedge-shaped and vibrant color of black and crystal shine. The Vellfire has a total length measurement of 4,850 mm, the height of 2,950 mm, the width of 1,915 mm and the long wheelbase that measures at 2,950 mm. It has an engine capacity of 2,400 cc, 276 horsepower generator and six cylinders that are conditioned for great fuel efficiency. When it comes to the price, the Vellfire is sold at a higher rate due to its enhanced exterior details.

Toyota Corolla

Ever since it was produced in 1966, the Toyota Corolla has been a household name when it comes to car models. It was in 1974 that the sale of this type of vehicle had boomed and it instantly became a bestseller among consumers worldwide. The Toyota Camry appears to be next among the best popular for the local market. The early models were made as rear-wheel drive while the newer models were changed into front-wheel drive. But, there are also manufactured four-wheel drive for the Toyota Corolla. As of today, it is for sale on the market for a reasonable price of 300,000 to 400,000 Japanese Yen.

The first generation (E10) was the first ever Toyota Corolla model produced during the year 1966 up to 1970. The second generation (E20) was redesigned with rounder body and it was manufactured during 1970 to 1978. From the year 1974 to 1981, Toyota produced the third generation (E30, E40, E50, and E60). These generation series were heavier and bigger as compared with the previous models. Then, the fourth generation was launched starting the year 1979 up until 1987. Again, the detail design has been modified into a square type exterior.

The fifth generation (E80) that came around 1983 to 1990 had a more modernized sharp-edged exterior with a sloping front top. The sixth generation (E90) was produced from the year 1987 to 2006. This car model is more refined as compared with all the previous that was released. Also, Toyota also began to produce the front-wheel-drive corollas.

From 1991 to 2002, the seventh generation (E100) were introduced to the market that was designed to be heavier, larger and rounder in comparison with the previous corollas. The eight generation (E110) that was produced from 1995 to 2002 and had a slightly modified look from the E100. The ninth generation (E120 and E130) were launched from 200 to 2007. The tenth generation was first produced in 2006 and is continuously being manufactured by Toyota until today. Lastly, the eleventh generation (E160) that was first launched in 2012 and is currently being produced and modified to give a better driving condition.

Toyota Hi-ace

The Toyota Hi-ace is a light mini-van that are used commercially today. It has many uses such as a taxi, pick-up, crew van, public transportation vehicle and even ambulance. The first generation (H10) was produced from 1967 to 1977 and was initially used as a delivery van and commuter vehicle. Then, from the year 1977 to 1982 the second generation (H11, H20, H30, and H40) were produced. Next, Toyota launched the third generation (H50, H60, and H70) from 1982 to 1989. The fourth generation (H100) was released from the year 1989 to 2004. Lastly, the fifth generation (H200) that was first introduced in 2004 and is currently being manufactured today. 

Toyota Rent a Car

Presently, Toyota is offering its rental services to the public through its website called Toyota rent-a-car. With this website, a person can rent their preferred Toyota car model at the nearest participating Toyota dealers. The purpose of this type of service is to provide the public with the opportunity to use it for leisure or business travel. Another reason is it can be a motivating factor in deciding whether to buy a Toyota car. In addition to this, it can also be used as a replacement while the owner has his own Toyota in maintenance or repair service.

For the car enthusiast, particularly Toyota, there is a theme park that focuses on the history of the company and its new developments. In this park, there is a car show and visitors can actually test drive their favorite car. It is open every day from 11 am to 9 pm and admission is free of charge.
